A growing number of small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Vietnam are turning to TikTok as a way to reach new audiences and drive sales. But while local SMB advertisers are experiencing success, they are also encountering certain challenges when kicking off advertising on TikTok, including:

  1. A limited knowledge of advertising best practices on TikTok.

  2. Issues related to ad quality, resulting in a high rate of ad account suspension.

  3. Credit card fraud is a common occurrence in Vietnam, so local advertisers look for more secure and alternative payment options for media buying.

  4. Advertisers managing multiple ad accounts find it difficult to consolidate ad performance reports.

Having identified the above obstacles, Ecomdy Media, one of the leading strategic agencies based in Vietnam, saw an opportunity to support these SMB advertisers and assist local agency partners in managing their clients by leveraging TikTok's API for Business solutions, including Business Center API and Reporting API.


Using TikTok's API solutions, Ecomdy Media developed a platform to tackle these problems by providing an easy advertiser onboarding experience. This includes a simplified ad account creation process, flexible and secure finance management, 24/7 customer support service, and a 1-stop-shop dashboard for ad performance data.


The Solution

Developing a SaaS platform integrating TikTok's API for Business

As a badged TikTok Campaign Management Partner, Ecomdy Media owns an Agency Business Center, which allows administrators to create ad accounts capable of targeting multiple markets. To increase the efficiency of the onboarding process, Ecomdy Media developed a Software as a service (SaaS) platform integrated with TikTok's Business Center API and connected it to their Agency Business Center.


The platform enables SMB advertisers to create and manage ad accounts owned by the Agency Business Center in just a few easy steps. Through this simplified ad account creation page, Ecomdy Media is also able to collect advertiser information and ad landing pages to help control ad quality and advise advertisers on how to prevent violations of TikTok's advertising policies, all without leaving the platform.


Ecomdy Media has also integrated a third-party payment gateway on the platform for users to add balances to or get refunds from ad accounts, supporting a variety of payment options including credit cards, BUSD, USDT, PayPal and Pay with Payoneer (PWP).


Advertisers' activities on the Ecomdy Media platform interact with the Process Payments capability of the Business Center API, and trigger balance transfers between ad accounts and the Agency Business Center. Advertisers can expect the refund process to be completed within 24 hours via the original top-up method. This flexibility in advertising fund management also benefits Ecomdy Media's local agency partners.


The Ecomdy Media platform also facilitates advertisers' efficiency and productivity through other offerings. By integrating TikTok's Reporting API, they produced an overview tab for users to see ad insights and metrics across multiple ad accounts. Their 24/7 customer support team can be reached for TikTok ads consultation and training services as well.

Ecomdy Media has empowered over 8,000 SMB advertisers since launching the platform, including more than 1,200 active users with a total ad deposit of up to $3.5 million per quarter.


TikTok's APIs have also helped reduced both onboarding time and response time. The average TikTok Ads Manager onboarding time for local SMB advertisers has decreased by 75% with the Ecomdy Media Platform. Also, by getting immediate support from Ecomdy Media—with a 30-minute response time on average—advertisers are able to operate more efficiently and are more confident about growing their business in TikTok.
