Gaslighting defined: Psychological manipulation of a person usually over an extended period of time that causes the victim to question the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and typically leads to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, uncertainty of one’s emotional or mental stability, and a dependency on the perpetrator (Miriam-Webster) Gaslighting can be an insidious beast in relationships; covert, hidden, complex, nuanced, hard to detect from the outside looking in. And because of this, those who are on the receiving end can sometimes feel like there’s no way out. Or feel manipulated into staying and believing it’s what they deserve. I’m here to tell you that you deserve to be loved in a way that feels safe, supportive, uplifting, and kind. You deserve better. You are worthy of the love you desire. • • 🤍follow along for more mental health tips, tools, info, and support- and some fun along the way! (Oh! and P. S. I hand-draw ALL my content!
