Home & Living brand Mike Bennett Studios was ready to expand its audience and grow its customer base. The studio’s energetic founder, certified Public Joy Creator Mike Bennett, had already attracted a large organic following through snappy, personality-driven videos displaying his eye-catching cartoon yard signs and decorations. Still, he was eager to spread the word far beyond his Portland home base. Given the success he’d already seen on TikTok Shop organically and running Spark Ads, a native ad format that lets advertisers boost organic content as paid ads, under the Website Conversion objective, he wanted to build further and find new followers for his line of playful yard décor, stickers, pins, posters, and more.


The solution

Supercharging Shop sales with Video Shopping Ads.

Partnering with digital strategy agency Level Ground, Mike Bennett Studios focused on adding Shop Ads to their paid strategy to grow their TikTok Shop sales, utilizing the Video Shopping Ads (VSA) format. VSAs increase TikTok Shop traffic and sales using audience insights and powerful targeting. By utilizing this one-stop advertising solution, Mike Bennett Studios was able to bring in new viewers and educate them about their products, while allowing them to directly click through to the product featured and complete the purchase process, all without leaving the TikTok app.


Organically, the brand produced more products with customer feedback in mind and then filmed TikToks showing how they implemented the feedback. The studio promoted successful posts with Spark Ads.

Adding Shop Ads to their paid strategy helped the brand maximize the results the brand had seen with Spark Ads and organic TikTok Shop sales. As a result of this updated strategy, their TikTok Shop sales increased by more than 220% and total company sales increased 80%. They also achieved a strong ROAS of 3x and added 1,922 new followers.


Creatively, showing users how they took their specific feedback and implemented it into new products proved to be a strong proof of concept for the brand, as the content performed exceptionally well and contributed to their results. TikTok is now a key part of Mike Bennett's paid media strategy and overall business success.
