The easiest most foolproof artisan bread✨ . I discovered this method from @merryboosters years ago and it has been my go-to ever since 🙏🏼❤️ . ▪️390g (or ~3 Cups) Artisan Bread Flour or All Purpose Flour▪️2 tsp Sugar▪️1+1/2 tsp Salt▪️3/4 tsp Instant or Active Dried Yeast▪️300ml (1+1/4 Cups) Water▪️Butter, for serving▪️ . 1️⃣ In a large bowl mix together the flour, salt, sugar and yeast 2️⃣ Add some lukewarm water (~110°F) and mix everything together to form a shaggy mass of dough 3️⃣ Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit and rise in a warm environment for about 2 hours 4️⃣ After 2 hours, preheat the oven to 450°F with a Dutch oven inside (so the Dutch oven gets preheated as well) 5️⃣ Transfer the dough on to a floured work surface (the dough will be sticky so dust it with some flour whenever needed); knead the dough (fold it on to itself, turn, and repeat) for 2-3 mins until a tensive dough ball forms 6️⃣ Transfer to a proofing basket or parchment lined bowl, cover and let rise for 35 mins or until the dough doubles in size 7️⃣ Place the dough ball in the preheated Dutch oven lined with parchment and bake at 450°F for 30 minutes; reduce the oven temperature to 400°F, remove the lid, and bake for another 10-15 more minutes (at this point the longer you bake the bread the crispier the crust will be.. just make sure the bottom doesn't burn) - enjoy with salted butter! . Note: If you are making bread on a regular baking tray instead of a Dutch oven, steam is the key factor for making crusty bread. Place a pan with hot water in the lowest rack of oven while baking and spraying with water inside the oven during the initial five minutes of baking to help create this steamy environment inside the oven. . ⏲ 10 minute prep time + 2 hour 35 minute rise time + 40 minute cook time . #homemadebread #bread #artisanbreadathome #easyrecipes #cookingtiktok #freshbread

Measurements: 390-420ml warm water 1 teaspoon honey, sugar or agave 1 Tablespoon (15ml) extra virgin olive oil 1.5 teaspoons (6g) instant yeast 500g white bread flour* 2 teaspoons (10g) fine sea salt Once rolls are shaped, let them rest (covered at room temp) for about 45 minutes before baking. Oven temp 230C/445F and place a vessel with water at bottom of oven to create steam in oven as it preheats. I just use a 9x5 loaf tin for this. Bake for 10 minutes with steam in, remove the water and continue baking for another 6-8 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. I bake on the lowest rack as I find it browns the bottom of the bread better. *500g is roughly 3.8-4 cups of flour. The flour should be fluffed up, spooned into cup and levelled to ensure it’s as accurately measured as possible. Scales are always best! Use the tutorial as a guide for consistency of dough and adjust water/flour slightly if needed Top tips: 🍞 The first time you make this bread, I suggest reducing the water in the recipe to 390ml when you initially mix the dough and then slowly add in the remaining 30ml if you feel the dough needs it to reach a similar consistency to my dough in the tutorial. Easy Same-Day Focaccia…an adaptation of my viral Overnight Focaccia recipe for those if you who need bread STAT! Full written recipe with precise instructions linked in bio. If you just want the basics, here you go 👇🏻 Measurements: 500g white bread flour (12% protein content or higher) 420ml warm water 6g (1.5 teaspoons) instant yeast 5g (1 teaspoon) honey, or sugar or maple syrup 10g (2 teaspoons) fine sea salt Extra virgin olive oil to line pan and drizzle Flaky sea salt to finish Toppings of choice (rosemary, olives, peppers, onions, jalapeños, cheese etc) What kind of tray? Metal baking tray is best (conducts heat better than ceramic/glass). 9x13inch or 23x33cm is what I use. It’s fine if you use larger, it will just bake up thinner. How long to bake? Bake on lowest rack in oven - 220C/430F for 18-23 mins. It may take longer in your oven, so leave it in until it’s a deep golden brown, don’t worry if it takes longer than 23 mins! Why is my dough wetter than yours? Your dough may be wetter/stickier than mine, that’s because I use a very high protein bread flour (14%) and all bread flour absorbs water differently. Don’t worry if it’s wetter, it will be trickier to handle but will bake up fine! Can I use normal flour? If you want to use all-purpose flour, reduce water by 40ml. Add in more at the end if you think it needs it. It is only 9-10% protein content so will be less fluffy and will hold in fewer bubbles. What are the measurements in cups? I do not provide measurements in cups as it’s not an accurate way of making bread. Digital scales are cheap, they make less mess than cups, they’re easy to use and will ensure you’re making the recipe correctly. Can I use GF flour? I’ve tried adapting to be gluten-free but haven’t cracked it yet. I wouldn’t recommend a straight swap of 1:1 Gluten- free bread flour for this method. Recipe 👇🏼 2 cups warm Water ¼ cup Sugar 1½ Tbsp Active Dry Yeast 1½ tsp Salt ¼ cup Vegetable Oil 6 cups Bread Flour In a large bowl, combine water, sugar and yeast. Set aside for 5 minutes. Add salt and oil and stir. Add flour 1 cup at a time. Knead dougg on a lightly floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes. Place dough in an oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Punch down dough 🤛🏼 . Knead for 3 minutes. Divide in half and shape into 2 loaves. Place loaves into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
