Tips is a feature that allows users to directly show gratitude to creators for their content. TikTok does not charge any fees to users or creators in connection with Tips, though third party payment service providers may charge fees for the services they provide to you in connection with the Tips feature.
TikTok does not process any payments made through Tips. TikTok integrates with a third party payment service provider, Stripe, and Stripe is responsible for all aspects of the processing of the transaction on behalf of the creator.
Tips is available only in selected countries, whether you are entitled to accessing the Tips feature will depend on your country of residence. For this purpose, data will be processed in accordance with the TikTok Privacy Policy.
These Tips Terms and Conditions are supplementary to the TikTok Terms of Service. If there is any conflict between these Tips Terms and Conditions and the TikTok Terms of Service, the Tips Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
Terms for Receiving Tips:
Creators who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply to receive tips:
- Have a TikTok personal account
- Have a TikTok account in good standing, including adherence to Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
- Be a member of Creator Next
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have at least 100,000 followers
- Have a Stripe Account, which is governed by the Stripe Services Agreement.
If you no longer meet one or more of the above criteria, we are allowed to suspend your access to Tips, acting reasonably and objectively depending on the seriousness of the suspected breach.
We will integrate with Stripe (or an alternative payment service provider) so that Stripe can process Tips payments on your behalf on the TikTok platform. We are not responsible for the processing of the payment nor for any payment services provided to you by Stripe, including the availability of Stripe services. If you have any queries or complaints in relation to the services provided to you by Stripe, please contact Stripe.
Terms for Sending Tips:
Payment services to send tips are provided by Stripe, not by TikTok.
You agree that the decision to send a tip is entirely yours. Once you confirm that you wish to send a tip through Tips, you will not be able to change your mind nor will you have any refund rights in relation to the tip.
While using the Tips feature, you will be subject to the Stripe Services Agreement and the Stripe Privacy Policy will apply. Please read those terms carefully.
Note that while the entire tip amount goes to the Creator, processing fees will be charged to you separately by Stripe. TikTok will not receive any portion of the tip amount or related processing fees.
