Supportive spaces that allow us to open up and be heard show us that no matter how isolated we feel, we’re never truly alone in what we’re going through.  

Unpacking loneliness 

Our UK community came together for Mental Health Awareness Month to address an all-too-common issue: loneliness. Because the more we open up about feeling lonely, the less alone we’ll feel.

For You Pages everywhere were flooded with heartfelt stories and experiences with loneliness. Using the hashtag #TikTokUnpacks, our community provided tips on how to support yourself and others’ mental health when going through a lonely time.

Mental health advocates of all kinds joined in from there. Therapists breaking down actionable steps for feeling more connected, performers sharing tips for overcoming stage fright, individuals telling their personal stories – each shared loneliness from a different angle, giving a full picture of its prevalence in modern society.  

Community impact

Our UK community used Mental Health Awareness month as an opportunity to connect with people most in need of connection.
