There are so many shade plants to choose from but these were the ones we had on site already (free plants!). Other options to consider (all native in my area but check your own to see what works best): lungwort, toad lily, bleeding hearts, jacob’s ladder, goat’s beard, solomon seal, jack-in-the-pulpit, hellebores, mayapple, wild ginger, golden seal, meadow rue, foam flower. Did you catch the temperature? It’s mid-July so yes, you can do this now. Any time the ground isn’t frozen. Precautions: water well right after you plant, or even add water right in the holes before you close them up. Water again daily if it’s hot and not raining, even if you have an irrigation system. Press down firmly around the plant. Save for later for when you are planning on planting a shade garden! Location: client’s house (video done by Alex) About me: I’m in zone 6 in the Boston area but almost all of the principles I talk about are applicable to any garden. I try to respond to as many questions as I can but I can’t get to them all so feel free to help each other out if you have information to share.🌸 #shadeplants #shadegarden #nativeplants #beforeafter #gardeningtips #gardening #gardening101 #gardeningforbeginners #diylandscaping #gardentok
