We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our Chef Adrienne Guttieri. She joined IGC Hospitality as a Sous Chef at Park Avenue Tavern in 2012, with the goal that she would be running her own kitchen in 5 years. She was able to do it in 4. Her devotion to her craft and her colleagues was known and felt whenever Chef Adrienne was present. Adrienne had three passions...her Family, her Friends, and her Food. Family - was everything to her. At an early age she was instilled with values of loyalty, honesty, and pride in who you are and what you do. These values were important to her and she never backed away from them. Her second family, the restaurant family - specifically the “Heart of The House”, is where she taught and lived those values. She would go to the ends of the earth for both of her families, and they would do the same for her. Friends - she was a fiercely devoted and loyal friend. The absolute best kind of friend. She would always take interest in what you were doing and how you were feeling. As we all know, she would let her feelings and thoughts be known, you never had to guess. A constant in many lives, she was a rock and offered unwavering and determined support for all who stepped into her light. Food - she had a passion to travel and learn more every day but always stuck to her humble roots. Her confidence in the kitchen was undeniable. She was passionate about making people happy through her talent. She was extremely talented. She loved what she did. Thank you Adrienne. You will be missed beyond measure, but your legacy will live on through those that had the utmost privilege in knowing you, learning from you, laughing with you, sharing a table with you, and loving you. “Skills can be taught.
