Replying to @Spizawn Okay, I tried the Wisconsin Old Fashioned. Although I kinda sorta get the appeal… it’s more like fruit punch than an actual Old Fashioned 🤷🏻‍♂️ Here’s how you make a real one. But keep in mind, an Old Fashioned is more of a template: spirit, bitters, water and sugar. It doesn’t have to be brandy, or bourbon, or any kind of whiskey. You can use rum, tequila or even gin as the base spirit. Celebrate Father’s Day by gifting a bottle of a Freezer Door Cherry Old Fashioned This is one of my favorite ways to make classic booze forward cocktails because all you have to do it make it in the bottle, throw it in the freezer and your ready to pour & sip whenever you feel like it! Also, I forgot to finish the video & therefore captured the last pour of the bottle haha Here’s a fun way to make a homemade freezer door old fashioned: Grab a full bottle of rye or bourbon and pour out 6 oz, shoot it back or save it! In your bottle add in: 2 oz Demerara syrup 1 oz cherry syrup 3/4 oz angostura bitters 1/2 oz Orange bitters Optional: 1-2 oz water for dilution (I like to let mine mellow with ice but it’s up to you as it’s pretty boozy!) Optional: 1 orange peel Mix together & place in the freezer! Pour 3oz over a large a cube & enjoy! BEST OLD FASHIONED IN THE WORLD 2 oz Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel 4 dashes Angostura Bitters 4 dashes Orange Bitters 1 tsp Rich Syrup - Demerara 2 drops Salt Water Orange Peel, Lemon Peel A touch of love Listen, this ain’t a Wisconsin fruit salad in a glass, I didn’t use rye whiskey, and a lemon peel slaps in an old fashioned so go troll your mother if you think otherwise. The original cocktail came about around 1806, consisting of a strong spirit of any kind, sugar, water, and bitters. It was probably genever or some type of brandy. Later in the early 1800s, cocktails evolved, ice was used, and bartenders started making the whiskey cocktail, which was whiskey, sugar, bitters, and water. Some years later, this cocktail started changing, but folks still wanted the OG whiskey cocktail, so it ended up becoming the old-fashioned way of making a whisky cocktail. That’s some serious loose history there, but I think it’s somewhat accurate, I’m not thinking too hard this morning. #Jackdaniels
