Reposted from @everydayisjuneteenth Robin DiAngelo is an Affiliate Associate Professor of Education at the University of Washington. She earned a B.A. with a double major in sociology and history from Seattle University in 1991. She received her Ph.D. in multicultural education from the University of Washington in 2004, with a dissertation entitled "Whiteness in racial dialogue: a discourse analysis". She is the author of "White Fragility." ABOUT THE BOOK "White Fragility" is the New York Times best-selling book exploring the counterproductive reactions white people have when their assumptions about race are challenged, and how these reactions maintain racial inequality. White fragility as a concept is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent any meaningful cross-racial dialogue. In this in-depth exploration, DiAngelo examines how white fragility develops, how it protects racial inequality, and what we can do to engage more constructively. ‼️ Every Day Is Juneteenth online bookstore curated by @mrwelltravelled has the book in stock.
