I’ve had a few of my friends tell me they are interested in trying natto, but they don’t know how to eat it or what to buy. So here’s a little beginners guide for you! When I was a kid, I was a picky eater Ava would not eat beans of any kind, least of all fermented ones. So I did not actually start eating natto until a college roommate from Japan introduced me to it. But now I love it! It’s super convenient because you can keep it in the freezer and just let it defrost in the fridge the day before you want to eat it. And you can eat it cold straight from the fridge! A lot of natto comes with tare (liquid seasoning) and mustard, which you mix into the beans. I’m just… not a fan of Japanese mustard 🤷🏻♀️ Don’t come for me. So for this video I am eating a natto that came with extra dashi seasoning and no mustard. But you should definitely try all the flavors too see what you like. As for eating it, you can really eat it however you want. A lot of people pour it over rice. You could also roll it into sushi rolls. I’ve also stuck it in age and dried it. Anyway, I hope this video helps you if you’re looking to try natto! If you’re already a natto fan, what’s your favorite way to eat it? #nattobeans #natto #japanesefoodlovers #fermentedfooods #fermentedsoybeans #eatingnatto
