How to Grow Fruit Trees In Pots! 👇🏻 Living on a small suburban block where space is hard to come by, I grow a large array of dwarf fruit trees in pots! 🪴 Here are my top tips for successful growing and getting awesome harvests: 🌱 Pot Size - choose the largest size you can make work! Our pots are about 55 litres. 🌱 Drainage - fruit trees don’t enjoy having wet feet! If your pot doesn’t have adequate drainage, you can drill some extra holes in the bottom. 🌱 Soil - get a potting mix to use as a base that assists with good drainage and has good structure! I use a premium potting mix for my trees. 🌱 Compost - top the potting mix up with some organic compost to help add nutrition to the soil. 🌱 Feeding - most fruit trees are heavy feeders. I apply blood & bone as well as pelletised chicken manure liberally twice a year. See my other reel for specifics. The pelletised chicken manure acts as a slow-release fertiliser as it breaks down over time. 🌱 Mulch - this is integral when keeping fruit trees in pots, especially if you live in a warmer climate! It is essential for reducing water loss due to evaporation. I use organic sugar cane. Happy Growing! ☺️🪴 #fruittreesinpots #fruittreesinmybackyard #fruittrees #backyardgarden #vegetablegarden #vegetablegardening #gardeninginspiration #gardeningtips #gardenadvice #smallspacegardening #containergardening #containergarden #containergardeningideas #urbangardening #urbangrowing #urbanhomestead #veggiegarden #growyourown #growyourownfood #growyourownveggies #growyourownfruit
