Peri Peri Chicken Livers on toasted Ciabatta 🥙 Liver is an underrated food but its nutritional profile is impressive! This healthy protein-packed peri peri chicken livers is low in calories and highly nutritious. If you are looking to maintain a strong immune system (vit A) and increase your protein intake to better satisfy your hunger then try this flavourful recipe! Ingredients for 4 portions: 400g fresh chicken livers 1 onion, finely sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp dark soy sauce Salt and pepper 1 tbsp oil 5 curry leaves 30ml peri peri sauce plus extra for drizzling Chopped spring onions Chopped chives to garnish 4 ciabatta slices 1 green chilli to garnish 1. Wash and clean the chicken livers. In a bowl add the livers, onions, garlic, soy sauce,salt and pepper. Mix well and leave to marinate for 10 mins. 2. Meanwhile heat a pan. Add a drizzle of oil and fry the curry leaves to release the flavour. Now add the livers in 2 batches. You want to sauté the livers on high heat so they caramelise. Sauté for 2 minutes on each side until all the livers have browned nicely. Put the chicken back into the pan and stir in the spring onions. Reduce the heat to medium. 3. Pour the saucy peri peri and cook gently for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile toast the ciabatta slices. 4. Once the chicken is cooked turn off the heat and spoon onto the crusty ciabatta. Sprinkle the chopped chives and add a good drizzle of peri peri sauce. Finish off with a slice of green chilli and enjoy with a salad on the side. NB: livers should be consumed in moderation as it contains a high amount of Vitamin B12 and Vitamin A, hence the smaller portion pp in the recipe 😋 #chickenlover #flavourful #chickenlivers #ciabatta #marinated #asmrfood

Some of y’all went from never eating liver to eating it daily (raw, in pill form, etc). Yes, you can have too much of a good thing EVEN if it’s super nutrient dense. An entire animal has 1 liver. Our bodies can only absorb a certain amount of nutrients as it is, why give it more than it needs? This can lead to nutritional imbalances (copper to zinc ratio). Might be an unpopular opinion in the health scene, but let me know your thoughts on this! Raw liver is also disgusting. It doesn’t get easier 😅 at least spice it up so that you can actually enjoy it! This is my take on Lebanese liver & onions. I make this about once a month, maybe twice. 4oz calf liver, soaked in milk overnight, cut into small cubes OR chicken liver 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced 1 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp allspice 1/2 tsp salt ghee for cooking pomegranate molasses & cilantro for garnish. the pomegranate molasses is required, the cilantro is optional Slice your onions. Caramelize them in a pan with ghee. Medium to medium high heat, obviously keep an eye out and stir every so often. Add the spices and stir to combine. Add in the liver and cook until liver is cooked through and soft. Don’t overcook it. Smother with pomegranate molasses and cilantro #liverking #healthindustry
