Come with me to set up my ball python’s new habitat! 🦎 I got this 4x2x2 enclosure from @zenhabitats, and in my opinion, ball pythons really do thrive with more room, as long as the enclosure has lots of cover. Although the heat lamps are not pictured, make sure they have a basking spot of 85-90 degrees. They do not require UV light, but I added one from @Ryan McVeigh anyway as it helps with the plants, and more studies are coming out saying it’s beneficial. Their humidity should be around 50-60%, and they should have a warm hide, cool hide, and a water bowl big enough to soak in. There’s many options for substrate as I’ve discussed in the video, but I got a @Josh’s Frogs mix from the DFW Reptarium. What a great time to be a reptile keeper 😍 For less than 600$ we can build 8x2x2 enclosures for our pets using two 4x2x2 @Dubia.com PVC enclosures and the new expansion kit 😍 you build the 4x2x2s as usual, but leave one of the 2x2 side panels out on each enclosure, and then use the expansion kit to connect the two open sides! I found it to be a really easy process, and I could snap some of the connecting pieces on by hand and gently tapped them with the provided hammer if I couldn't snap them on by hand 🫡 I can't wait to see what kind of animals people will put in their 8x2x2s in the future!
