One of the prettiest road trips in California 🏔️ It is Hwy 395, particularly road from Lake Tahoe to Big Pine. There's so much to see and do there! Note: to be able to fit it all in 3 days I skipped some places. You can find the full list on my California map (lіnk in bio). Note 2: Summer and fall are the best time to visit. Road to Devils Postpile usually reopen in June. 💙 3-day summer itinerary 💙 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 1. Morning at Mono Lake. If you love sunrises it is a perfect place for it. Then Drive 1 hour 35 minutes 2. Devils Postpile National Monument & Rainbow Falls - Spend the rest of the day there. Use shuttles to hike less 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 3. Sunrise at Wild Willy's Hot Spring Note: this order will make you lose about 10 min driving around but the views will be prettier during particular times of the day. 4. Picnic at Convict Lake. 5. Sunset at Hot Creek Geological Site. Brees Lookout has the best view (it's on my video too). Come earlier if you want to hike down. 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯 6. Crowley Lake Stone Columns - it's a 4 mile hike but if you have 4x4 you can drive up to it. Depending on the weather the columns can be partially under water, check the status before going. Drive for 1 hour 30 minutes 7. Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest - some of the oldest trees in the world are here. It'll take about half day to check out 1-2 main trails. Massive undertaking on HWY 395 south at Lake Topaz. The mountain shifted from all the snow we had last winter and now they have to remove around 40,000 tons of aggregate to get the HWY back to normal and perform erosion control afterwards..
