This is one way to stay warm in the freezing cold 😂.
For those who don’t know, these are pump jack scaffolds. You use your leg to pump it up and use your arms to wind them down. They work like a giant caulking gun.
Hope everyone had a killer Monday!

I haven’t posted about how I keep my hands warm in the winter yet this year. I use cheap cotton gloves (the grey ones were from a liquidation warehouse a few years back and I bought all of them). As you can see they get holes in them and I treat them as disposable. It’s important to find a size that fits well so that you don’t lose dexterity.
My hands used to crack and bleed every single winter as cotton gloves suck the moisture out. Once you get used to the nitrile glove as liners, you’ll realize they do wonders. Every person is different, I don’t sweat much so this is the perfect balance for me. The first year I tried the nitrile liners I was 50/50. Then I took a year off. For the past few years I’ve been on the nitrile liners all winter and my hands thank me a ton.
Try it. You may hate it or you may like it. It’s an acquired taste 😂. Your hands end up becoming super soft compared to summer working hands.

Someone asked me about taking siding off in the middle of a wall yesterday. If you’ve never done any siding or repairs before, you might assume you have to tear all of the siding off from the top. This isn’t the case and it is very simple.
This repair took less than 4 mins and I wasn’t rushing as I only had 1 piece of siding and it was very cold out so I didn’t want to screw up.
The video should be fairly self explanatory. If you have any questions, ask away and I’ll try to answer as best as I can.
As always, thank you for watching and following along. I do try to make every single post informative or helpful in some way.

This is another example of not pulling out a tape measure when you don’t have to. You’ll see I used my thumb as a measuring device, then slid it over. Also, I used the snips to make a mark to eliminate the need to take the pencil out to mark the siding. If you can do this many times a day, you’ll save a lot of time over the course of a full job.
As for the comments in the video, my friend who was filming thinks all the comments on many videos are hilarious. We have both come to the conclusion that some people have nothing better to do than to look for something wrong in videos and comment on it 😂.
On another note, you’ll notice I’m wearing the new Truewerk T1 overalls. Transit pants underneath keep me warm even though they’re designed to be summer/spring overalls. They are by far the lightest, stretchiest, most comfy overalls I’ve ever warn. I did find built in knee pads was one of the lacking features in Truewerk pants, these built in knee pad inserts are “perfect” as I don’t like bulky and these don’t feel bulky at all. Stay tuned for regular pants from them with knee pad compartments. It’s always great to see an already great company improving and innovating.
