For Riptide, Vance Joy tunes his ukulele down a perfect fourth in live performances. Along with this, his fourth string is tuned as the lowest string, not like the more common "reentrant" tuning. In the studio recording, the ukulele sounds almost a half step sharper than how he tunes it live.
My ukulele is tuned closely to the studio recording, but the chords in this video are named according to standard tuning.
