Responding to @Josephine accusations of cultural appropriation against these people's drums at Stonehenge. There is a lot that is problematic in this video (might add more later), but picking on the drums is a curious and misplaced one. I was asked recently why I don't tag my videos with First Nations and indigenous tags, given that the style of drum is rooted in the drum making practices of the First Nations peoples. Here I explain that the way we work with the drums, and the way in which we craft the drums, is rooted in the stories and spirits of this land, drawing on the old gods and goddesses, and sacred trees, with ceremonies that honour our festivals and ceremonies, and is part of a living sacred art that has been passed on. Not only that, we don't look to gain credibility and take up space on this platform using indigenous and first nations hashtags, where it isn't relevant to what we are doing here.
