On 15th March 2019 a lone wolf gun-man would commit the worst mass shooting in New Zealand history. At approx 1:40pm he entered the first Mosque and opened fire on innocent civilians before continuing onto the second mosque at 1:52pm and continuing the attack. In total 51 people were fatally shot & killed, a further 40 were injured. The gunman was arrested after NZ Police rammed his vehicle and pinned him, ripping him out of the vehicle at gun point. The gunman was sentenced to life in prison.
