Edit ** : I originally made this reel to show solidarity to moms who were in the same boat. I hate that it’s turned into a place for mom-shaming. I never expected this reel to blow up, but now that it has, I need to clarify a few things. When I took this video, my husband had just started back to work and I hadn’t anticipated the showering issue. We only had the Mamaroo and a huge playpen at the time… neither of which would fit into our bathroom. My mom told me that she use to put us in the car seat when she showered. I have since learned about positional asphyxiation. Thank you to everyone who commented (respectfully) to inform people about this. I never took my eyes off of him and the shower only lasted about 5 minutes. We have also since been given a few bouncers and I have one I use for the bathroom now. Also - as a first time mom, it makes me nervous to leave baby in another room while I shower. I have postpartum anxiety, and when I’m not with baby, all I can think about are all the things that could be going wrong with him. It relaxes me more to have him near me. My baby is now 4 months old, and he comes into the bathroom with me still and sits in his bouncer while I shower & sing to him. ☺️ As with all things in parenting — I think we each know what’s best for our baby and for our family. If you are watching baby closely at all times, then you do what you gotta do to take care of your family.
