This has to be one of the REALEST AUDIOS I’ve come across 😤🙏🏽🙌🏽💖 In all honesty, I’m not upset about it but it’s more funny than anything (also, comforting that I’m not the only one that feels this way).
Fun Fact: This audio essentially sums up my journey from solely being a music artist to transitioning into a video editor and content creator (and being able to have full-time jobs as such in those roles).
In late 2011, I started making music with my dad and this forced us to learn how to make our own beats and engineer our own sessions (we started in GarageBand and over the years transitioned into Logic Pro).
From then, my dad had the idea that we NEEDED to have a music video for my first single release called “Paranoia” but we didn’t know anyone or have any equipment and with my dad’s “can do” attitude, we shot the video on his phone. Then of course, we had to edit it (at the time we used iMovie and later I learned Premiere Pro) and we began this process of shooting and editing videos.
Then, of course came the marketing. We became our own graphic designers and created flyers, CD cover art, track lists, and every other marketing material you could think of.
It was this long journey that quite frankly, showed me new aspects about the craft that I truly enjoy that I probably wouldn’t have learned if it weren’t for filling the need when social media came around. And now, I use those same skills everyday for work. I enjoy what I do…even if it all started from me just wanting to “sell some freakin songs” 💖
Also, big thanks to my dad @tinobenz0 for supporting me the entire way and for my mom @Cinnabon for being my biggest fan. I love you both ❤️❤️
