Weiner received a tip about where horses used for carriages are put up for auction, he met these two who had no other options. Because they're older and have medical issues, they would've likely been sold for slaughter if The Gentle Barn hadn't stepped in. These first moments are everything for us, and we can't wait to show them how wonderful their lives will be now that they're no longer forced to pull heavy carriages. We had shared this rescue over on our IG and wanted to share our rescues here on TikTok. Here’s the story of our pony rescue. When we heard about this, we knew we had to step in and help! These ponies had been living in these dire conditions for over a decade. Although we don’t know Lucy’s life before coming into this unfortunate fate, we do know that Lucy had given birth to Magic in these conditions. He’s over 10 years old, and the two of them did not get to go outside, never left the stall, did not have any vet care and were living in their own filth. They also had no access to water or food. There had been previous unsuccessful attempts at rescuing these ponies by others. We were asked to help, and although it was difficult, we were able to finally convince the “owner” to surrender them to sanctuary.
