Replying to @mushroom_______ my dogs are off leash in my front yard due to prior experiences. I workout in my garage. I’ve had several stray dogs run into my garage trying to attack me while I workout. I’ve had dogs run into my yard while my kids were playing. Maverick handled it all 3 times before my other dogs jumped in. The peace of mind dogs bring you when you are outside gives you that extra defense. They are not your primary but a secondary. When I workout my kids play & if you’re a dad or mom, you know how hard that is staying motivated and worried about your kids at the same time…but when you have dogs who are trained to protect, you don’t mind them being out front in the yard. PLEASE STOP SCROLLING 😭💔HELP save Jagger! 💔 Jagger went to hospital because he couldn’t breathe well, was difficulty walking and his gums were very pale on Sunday morning. The doctor determined that he needed a transfusion for his anemia because his hematocrit was only 10 (a normal dog is over 35).
He was admitted for the day for transfusion. We arrived to pick him up at 8pm as we were instructed but when he was brought to the car, he was still unable to walk and still having difficulty breathing. We questioned the technician who brought him out and we were told that she just began her shift but said he is clinically stable and discharged.
At home, he still exhibited the same symptoms.plus began having nasal discharge. We contacted the hospital and were told to bring him back for evaluation that he may be having a transfusion related acute lung injury. He was hospitalized overnight on medications to ease breathing and antibiotics as they now believe this may be inhaled pneumonia.
His expenses include weekly oncologist visit for UV ozone treatment and vitamin C infusions; acupuncture sessions for pain management, bleeding control, nausea which are over $1000 per week.
Transfusion costs are $2,400-$4,000 each.
