Apart from its spiritual significance, cedar has been used to make utensils, canoes, longhouses, baskets and more. Some cedars are also culturally modified trees (CMTs). These marked trees found throughout BC provide significant archaeological value as indicators of practices from different periods in Pacific Northwest history.
