We got c0V!D from the Balloon Fiesta so we all feel like crap. Pure flaming dog crap. The cleanliness of the bus is the least of my worries.
Normally, I’m the one that keeps the bus tidy, reminding everyone to pick up after themselves…but, when mom is the first to get sick, sometimes things have to be neglected.
Kyle took such great care of me the first 2 days after I got sick. He made me meals, drinks, anything that I needed. So what if he didn’t make sure the kids kept the bus clean? He spent his time giving me care in the best way he knows how.
For years, I would have been so pissed that the house wasn’t taken care of too, because that’s surely what I would have done. Here’s the thing tho, Kyle isn’t me. He does things differently, and that is 100% okay! I realized that I need to appreciate him for who he is and how he shows love and care.
It may not always be the care that I want, but it’s absolutely the care I need.
So, the bus can wait. And yes, we show our REAL life as a nomad family on the road. Sure, there’ll be critics on how we should make sure our house is clean before putting it on social media, but then that isn’t very real, is it?
This is us. This is who we are as a family and individuals. We won’t try to change who we are to fit in a box society expects us to live in and we don’t want you to either.

While the mass ascension ride is expensive, it’s totally worth it. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is the largest hot air balloon festival in the world. You can attend just to enjoy the festivities if you don’t want to take flight.
