The parents of Sharbat Gula were never contacted or asked for permission. Steve McCurrry was a white man, travelling to foreign countries and taking pictures of minor girls without anyones permission. Just imagine if a Arab/Afghan/African man traveled to Europe to take pictures of minor girls without their parents context. Wouldn’t they be arrested? Wouldn’t we all be disgusted by this attitudes.
