When my clients come to me with chronic, insatiable sugar cravings, I often recommend they ask their doctor for some further testing to learn more about their metabolic health. One of the most important tests to uncover potential root causes of sugar cravings is a complete thyroid panel. Often, when a thyroid test is run, it does not include important markers like T3 & T4 and thyroid antibodies. A complete thyroid panel provides better insight into thyroid function and could provide some explanation for symptoms like sugar cravings, stubborn weight gain, chronic fatigue, inflammation and more.
