There's something special about this place that speaks to me, enticing me to return time and time again ❤️ If you're looking for the easiest way to reach Block Island, I highly recommend taking a ferry from Orient Point NY, Montauk NY, New London CT, Point Judith RI, or Newport RI. While the summer months are undoubtedly busy, I urge you to plan your visit for September or early October. The water remains warm, and the island is serene without the tourist crowds. Located 12 miles off the Rhode Island Coast, block island is a beautiful island known for its dramatic bluffs, pristine coastline and white sand beaches. To reach Block Island, you will have to catch a Ferry from Pt. Judith in Rhode Island, which takes about an hour to reach Block Island. Here are the best things to do in Block Island Start your journey with taking a stroll in the old harbor district . The Main Street is the Water Street with hotels welcoming tourist for more than 100 years to different boutique shops and restaurants.The best way to explore the island is to rent a bike or a moped. There are multiple businesses in the island which rent bikes and mopeds. We rented from Island Moped, located on the water street just in front of the ferry terminal.Once you have a bike or moped , you can explore the island easily. 💫Climb down 141 stairs to the beach and see the famous Mohegan Bluffs. There are 2 lighthouses on the Island , the North Lighthouse and the Southeast Lighthouse. Both the light houses can be easily accessed. 💫Crescent Beach , Mansion Beach and the Ballards beach are some of the popular beaches in Block Island. Ballards beach club located on the Ballard beach provided good food and drinks. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas. This is a good place to spend some leisure time on the beach. 💫Block Island has more than 30 miles of hiking trails.
