West Fork Trail in Sedona is a flat out-and-back trail that meanders through a canyon offshoot of Oak Creek. You can go as far as you want, but most people go about 4 miles deep and then turn around. The canyon is much cooler than the rest of Sedona, which makes it a refreshing hike during the hotter months. But, your shoes will get wet! And it’s not recommended to go barefoot as the rocks can be sharp and slipper in some parts. Some people bring water shoes and some people just get their hiking boots wet. The perfect answer doesn’t exist but we hope this can help guide you to creating a memorable trip. There is no specific order to the days and hikes can be swapped for others. The time of year can be critical to planning. Sedona gets hot in the summer and has rattle snakes. Please plan your days with safety in mind! 🚙Doe Mountain and Bear Mountain share the same parking lot. Doe is shorter and easier. Bear is longer and challenging. Down the road is Fay Canyon trail 🥾Baldwin trail can also be accessed from Templeton. Or swap with a Bell Rock trail or Big Park Loop 🚙There are many different Jeep Tour companies in Sedona. Things to do in Sedona: Pink Jeep Tours The Pink Jeep Tour was a fun way to explore the red rock trails in Sedona. The ride was bumpy and went through heights which made for a thrilling experience. Our guide on this ride was entertaining and knowledgeable. He was able to give us facts about Sedona and geology along the way. You can expect to get out for 2 stops during the tour to take photos and take in the views. DOE MOUNTAIN [ 1.5 miles, 490 feet of elevation ] — A short hike to the top of a red rock mesa that has gorgeous views in every direction. Some people walk around the perimeter of the mesa to get a 360 perspective. MESCAL TRAIL [4.6 miles, 480 feet of elevation ] — You'll be hiking on lots of beautiful, open slickrock that's very picturesque, especially at sunset when the rocks are glowing. ANDANTE TRAIL [ 2.2 miles, 435 feet of elevation ] — This trail hugs the side of Thunder Mountain and is a great hike if you’re looking for something short. There’s also views of Chimney Rock and Coffee Pot Rock. MARG’S DRAW TRAIL [ 3.9 miles, 393 feet of elevation ] — This underrated trail doesn't get much traffic and is a good choice for a relatively quick and easy hike close to town. With dramatic red rock formations, this a real winner. SEVEN SACRED POOLS [ 1.2 miles, 110 feet of elevation ] — This easy trail takes about 30 minutes to complete, with added time for enjoying the view. The best time to visit the pools is after a rain if you want to see them full with water.
