This is one Michelin recommended restaurant you have to try and all for less than 300$NT so you know CP值很高! 😆 We recently made a trip to Wanhua to try Yi Jia Zi, a shop specializing in Tainan style braised pork belly. And honestly, I don’t know if its cause we were hungry or what but it was probably one of the best meals we had in Taiwan. They have some of the best highlights and bites that you want a last taste of before leaving Taiwan, and that how it was with Wang’s Broth. Honestly, I’m a 滷肉飯 lover, but the sides dishes here man! Main Street Taiwanese Gourmet (📍59-10 Main St, Flushing, NY) is a neighborhood favorite in Flushing, Queens. During my visit, I tried some of their classic offerings like San Bei Ji (Three Cup Chicken), Orh Ah Mee Sua (Oyster Vermicelli), and Chou Dou Fu (Stinky Tofu). The Three Cup Chicken is simmered in its signature sauce (consisting of toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, and rice cooking wine), accompanied with garlic and ginger, and finished off with fresh basil. Nowadays, it’s rare to find Taiwanese restaurants in NYC that offer Oyster Vermicelli - a complex soup noodle that is flavored with dashi and includes pork intestines, oysters, and wheat vermicelli noodles. Finally, the Main Street Taiwanese Gourmet’s Stinky Tofu has been fried until crispy and golden and is paired with pickled cabbage and sauce.
