Adding Maui’s Haleakala National Park sunrise to your bucket list? Here’s some tips to help you plan your trip: 1. 🌅 Reservations Required: Book 60 days in advance or try to snag last-minute spots 2 days prior. Reservations are $1 per vehicle. 2. 🎟️ Sunrise Tours: If you can’t get a reservation or want to travel with tour guide, opt for a tour for transportation and reservation. We loved the sunrise bike tour that we did. 3. ❄️ Bundle Up: It’s chilly at 10,023 feet – dress warmly (add even more layers than you think you’ll need!). 4. ⏰ Patience Pays Off: Sunrise improves, so pack a warm drink and stay around. 5. 🚗 Plan Ahead: Check sunrise time, leave early, and allow for extra time. We arrived an hour before sunrise and that’s recommended. 6. 🎫 Ticket Perk: Valid for 3 days, use it again on your Road to Hana journey. There are actually 2 completely separate sections of Haleakala National Park (about 2.5 hrs from each other). One is where you will enjoy the Haleakala sunrise from the summit, and the other is the coastal area of Kīpahulu on your Road to Hana road trip. We don’t recommend doing both in the same day. 7. 🥾 Pack your hiking shoes and walk around the summit and crater after sunrise. 8. 🗺️ To get there, put “Haleakala National Park Summit Entrance” into your GPS. After you show your park pass and pay the entrance fee, you’ve still got another ~30 minute (12 mile) drive to the actual summit and Visitor Center! #maui #sunrise #nationalpark #haleakala #mauihawaii #mauilife #sunrise🌅 #haleakalanationalpark #mauivacation #maui🌴 #thingstodoinmaui #mauilife #mauisunrise #haleakalasunrise #mauibucketlist #mauithingstodo Maui, Maui sunrise, Haleakala National Park sunrise, Maui things to do, Maui vacation, Hawaii things to do
