Here’s why fruits & vegetables are making you BLOATED & GASSY 💨🤯 This is one of the most confusing parts of healing your gut. You go online and google “how to improve gut health”, and you see all these different blogs talking about how you need to eat more fiber, increase your veggies, etc… You get inspired, and decide to go stock your fridge with all these new foods in the hopes that you’ll finally find the relief you’re looking for. However, your excitement is quickly met with discouragement & frustration when you find that not only do these foods not help… they actually make you feel WORSE than before! 😣 Here’s the truth… If you’re experience regular bloating & gas… it’s likely due to an imbalance of the bacteria in your gut (your microbiome). These gut bugs break down things like fiber that we humans can’t digest on our own. So if you have too little or too MUCH of certain bacteria.. this leads to an inefficient breakdown of these fibers, and excessive GAS in your gut. Sometimes you can see improvements by just taking a probiotic, and slowly increasing fiber intake over time. Other times, you may need to try a low FODMAP diet along with antimicrobials to bring down any bacterial overgrowths that are present.
