WOW!! The people have spoken and they love flowers! ❤️ . I'm so happy to meet you! The reason I started this account was to show people that they can do it too! This garden may look intimidating and maybe you won't get this result the first year, but this is achievable, trust me. Like I said, I grew all of these from seed and planned out my garden over the long Yukon winter. Then I spent hours fussing over it and hoping for the best while I was gone (I did have hubby watering for me) and boy did she grow! . What surprised me most wasn't the volume of flowers (I knew I planted 300+ seedlings in June) but the height of some of them! Maybe it was the variety, maybe it was the Midnight Sun, either way, these babies put on a show that I will be forever grateful for. How to start a cut flower garden: There is a variety if plants you can buy for a cut flower garden layout. We could get $30 in just seeds but Daffodils, tulips, zinnias, cosmos and sunflowers are a nice mix of great beginner flowers to try. Ranunculus is a more advanced. The daffodils are perennials and will come back each year in your cut flower garden. Tulips are usually treated as annual flowers. You can save seeds of the zinnia, sunflowers and cosmos too! #cutflowergardenforbeginners

3 Reasons why you need to grow more sunflowers! 1. They are a trap crop for stink bugs. The bugs will congregate on the sunflowers and leave your precious veggie crops alone. It is so effective that it is used as a trap crop on commercial farms. 2. The bees, pollinators, and butterflies go crazy for the pollen rich blooms. 3. The seeds are edible and provide a high protein food source for myself and my chickens.
