Asixove anagwinya😍 5 cups of flour 6tbsp sugar 1tsp salt 2 cups of warm water 1packet yeast 1/2 cup warm milk 3 tbsp oil Method: 1. Mix 2 cups of warm water with 6 tbsp on sugar and yeast. Let the yeast activate for atleast 5min. 2. In a bowl add in 5 cups of flour, salt, 3tbsp oil, the yeast mixture and 1/2cup warm milk. Mix with a wooden spoon then go in with clean hands. 3. The dough should still be sticky but pull away from the bowl. Put the bowl in a warm place and let the dough rest and rise for 1hour. 4. After 1hour, heat up your oil and let's shape the dough. You'll need a side plate, add oil and dap your hands into the oil. This will help the dough not stick on your hands and help with shaping. Shape dough into smooth balls. 5. Fry your dough into amagwinya for 15 min and until golden brown. Makes 10 medium vetkoeks, crispy out layer when if fresh from the pot but after cooling down it gets soft Enjoy🥰 Notes: -you can do without the milk, just replace with water. My Vetkoek dough is more "wet" than my steamed bread and iDombolo recipe mainly for the frying process. Rubbing oil on your hands is important for the shaping process, it helps the dough to not stick on your hands. Frying oil must be on medium, nothing above medium heat, but must be hot enough for the first fry. #amagwinya #vetkoek #dibeko #fatcakes #southafricanfood #puffpuff
