The easiest most foolproof artisan bread✨ . I discovered this method from @merryboosters years ago and it has been my go-to ever since 🙏🏼❤️ . ▪️390g (or ~3 Cups) Artisan Bread Flour or All Purpose Flour▪️2 tsp Sugar▪️1+1/2 tsp Salt▪️3/4 tsp Instant or Active Dried Yeast▪️300ml (1+1/4 Cups) Water▪️Butter, for serving▪️ . 1️⃣ In a large bowl mix together the flour, salt, sugar and yeast 2️⃣ Add some lukewarm water (~110°F) and mix everything together to form a shaggy mass of dough 3️⃣ Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit and rise in a warm environment for about 2 hours 4️⃣ After 2 hours, preheat the oven to 450°F with a Dutch oven inside (so the Dutch oven gets preheated as well) 5️⃣ Transfer the dough on to a floured work surface (the dough will be sticky so dust it with some flour whenever needed); knead the dough (fold it on to itself, turn, and repeat) for 2-3 mins until a tensive dough ball forms 6️⃣ Transfer to a proofing basket or parchment lined bowl, cover and let rise for 35 mins or until the dough doubles in size 7️⃣ Place the dough ball in the preheated Dutch oven lined with parchment and bake at 450°F for 30 minutes; reduce the oven temperature to 400°F, remove the lid, and bake for another 10-15 more minutes (at this point the longer you bake the bread the crispier the crust will be.. just make sure the bottom doesn't burn) - enjoy with salted butter! . Note: If you are making bread on a regular baking tray instead of a Dutch oven, steam is the key factor for making crusty bread. Place a pan with hot water in the lowest rack of oven while baking and spraying with water inside the oven during the initial five minutes of baking to help create this steamy environment inside the oven. . ⏲ 10 minute prep time + 2 hour 35 minute rise time + 40 minute cook time . #homemadebread #bread #artisanbreadathome #easyrecipes #cookingtiktok #freshbread

Measurements: 390-420ml warm water 1 teaspoon honey, sugar or agave 1 Tablespoon (15ml) extra virgin olive oil 1.5 teaspoons (6g) instant yeast 500g white bread flour* 2 teaspoons (10g) fine sea salt Once rolls are shaped, let them rest (covered at room temp) for about 45 minutes before baking. Oven temp 230C/445F and place a vessel with water at bottom of oven to create steam in oven as it preheats. I just use a 9x5 loaf tin for this. Bake for 10 minutes with steam in, remove the water and continue baking for another 6-8 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. I bake on the lowest rack as I find it browns the bottom of the bread better. *500g is roughly 3.8-4 cups of flour. The flour should be fluffed up, spooned into cup and levelled to ensure it’s as accurately measured as possible. Scales are always best! Use the tutorial as a guide for consistency of dough and adjust water/flour slightly if needed Top tips: 🍞 The first time you make this bread, I suggest reducing the water in the recipe to 390ml when you initially mix the dough and then slowly add in the remaining 30ml if you feel the dough needs it to reach a similar consistency to my dough in the tutorial. So I thought I’ll share this video with time-stamps to show you the overview of my basic sourdough 👌👌 If you are new to baking artisan sourdough bread, this will be the most basic and fuss-free recipe you need, with a time-line no less! Please take note that the timing and duration serves as a guide and it is not absolute. It is critical to learn for us as bakers to learn to observe and feel the dough to apply the steps accurately according to the dough condition 🤓 🅡🅔🅒🅘🅟🅔 ♡ (Working temp of ~25C) 300g Bread Flour 50g Whole-wheat Flour 265g Water 7g Salt 70g Levain 🅜🅔🅣🅗🅞🅓 ♡ The night before 9pm ➡️ Build levain in the ratio 1:5:5 Day 2 8am ➡️ Mix flour + water and let it sit for 60 min. 9am Starter has doubled/ tripled. ➡️Add starter and mix until it is evenly incorporated, rest 30 min. 930am ➡️ Add salt and mix for 3-5min until the dough is nice and smooth, rest 30 min. 10am ➡️ 1 stretch-and-fold, rest 30 min 10.30 am - 12.45 pm ➡️ 3 Full Coil Folds, at ~ 45 min intervals ➡️ Rest the dough until the end of bulk fermentation (the dough would have grown 1.5X since the addition of levain) 2 pm ➡️ Final shaping and into the banetton basket. ➡️ Cold retard in the fridge overnight. Day 3 The next morning 8am ➡️ Preheat oven and Dutch Oven at 250C for 60 min. 9 am ➡️ Score and bake at 250 C for 20min in the Dutch Oven covered Remove lid at continue baking at 220 for 20 min. 9.40am Finally! But no, the bread is not quite ready to eat (although you can absolutely devour it immediately if you don’t mind the crumb being slightly moist and sticky!) Let the bread rest for at least 2h before slicing it so that it can cook through completely.
