Third time's the charm for the launch of the new Starliner spacecraft with astronauts on board. The Boeing spacecraft successfully made it into orbit, with astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore strapped in, after the second launch attempt was scrubbed on Saturday. If all goes according to plan, the Starliner is expected to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) on Thursday. In 2014, NASA gave contracts to both SpaceX and Boeing to provide a new spacecraft capable of ferrying astronauts to the ISS. SpaceX successfully began launching astronauts to the ISS in 2020. However, Boeing has faced several setbacks and cost overruns — and, until now, hadn’t yet conducted a successful crewed test launch. #NASA #Space #Astronaut
