This might be the BEST restaurant I’ve been to in 2023! I can’t believe it’s my first time. Suyo is a modern Peruvian restaurant in Vancouver and their cocktails and food are so impressive. My highlights were their ceviches (scallop was divine), salmon, duck and flan! I’ve been eating so good in 2023, so here are my top 10 restaurants I’ve tried in Metro Vancouver (part 1)!! ✨ WHAT I RECOMMEND + PRICES 👇🏻 1️⃣ Chocho Hot Pot (Burnaby) → I personally love their tomato broth! Everything they offer for all you can eat is genuinely so good - you can’t go wrong with anything here. $48.99 for regular price and $39.99 for late night. 2️⃣ Insadong (Coquitlam) → I always get their Insadong combo ($229.99) which feeds 6 people. It comes with lots of Korean BBQ meats, salad, soup, and seafood pancake or japchae. 3️⃣ Hong Sushi (Burnaby) → For big group dinners, I recommend their Party Tray B - $45.95 for 51 pieces and can feed 4-5 people. Also their salmon sashimi slices are thicker than at other restaurants ($13.95 for 7 pieces)! 4️⃣ Pho 37 (Richmond) → I ALWAYS get their no. 37 Tuan’s Special Beef Noodle Soup ($17.95)! The broth is smoky and comes with a poached egg in it. 5️⃣ Macu Tea (Richmond) → Their drink menu changes depending on what fruits are in season. I’m currently loving their Bo-Bo Grape Smoothie ($7.95). vancouver, you can keep my stomach 😩 full review of my top 3 asian restaurants in Vancouver (+ an honorary mention) below 🫶🏼 1️⃣ Izakaya restaurant with really creative dishes - a quick tip: for the bento box that they only serve 8 per day, best to go about 15 minutes before they open for lunch to snatch the first walk-in table (we did this) or make a reservation (at least 2 weeks before) and reserve one! it’s great bc you get to try a little bit of everything before you order a full size dish. 📍Kingyo: 871 Denman St, Vancouver, BC V6G 2L9, Canada 2️⃣ Vietnamese-Cambodian restaurant, must try dishes are the wings and the butter beef - the wings comes in two sizes, 4 or 7 full wings, I’d reccomend getting the 7, they were soooo tasty I could not stop 🤤 📍Phnom Penh: 244 E Georgia St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1Z7, Canada 3️⃣ Chinese Hot Pot restaurant that got the stamp of approval from my spice-loving boyfriend (he said it was one of the best butters spicy broth he has ever had) - best part was the very high quality of the premium angus beef at an affordable price and also I didn’t mention in the reel but they give you free ice cream at the end too 🍦 📍Xiaolongkan: 8320 Alexandra Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 1C4, Canada 🏅Honorary mention: Legend Hot Pot 🍲 we ate here on our first night and their pork bone broth was soooo good. I could tell that it was freshly made (they included all the ingredients in the broth) - A bit pricey, but if you’re looking for a good HK-style hot pot restaurant or a late night meal, this would be the spot.
