l’ve always been someone who looks too deep into things. I think that might be because I realized from a young age that there is always more than what meets the eye, or at least I hoped that was true. Just like every good fairy tale has a once upon a time + a happily ever after, I think l’ve always strived to find the magic of it all. The magic in the mundane moments, the serendipity of simple, slow mornings, the appreciation for warm sunlight, the bite of a fall day. a little reminder at the end… Last weekend, I took some time away and drove down to maysville, ky— a small river town that looks straight out of a hallmark movie. I needed some time away to revamp the business & shoot content & really refocus. On my last night there, I felt like I hadn’t accomplished as much as I wanted to, but had intended to paint while I was there, so I took the time to paint anyways. I’m so glad I did. Creating with no purpose or pressure is so gratifying when your job is creating all the time for business. I knew I didn’t want to name it after myself, that wasn’t what the imagine was. It was bigger. Word strings— words tied together to inspire, to create, to heal, to love. At the time the words were literally sewn together, stitched into each garment with intention, by hand. Even though that isn’t an element of my business anymore, I still find that there’s more than meets the surface with our products. I’ve fallen in love with the words.
