Bingo for Babies is tomorrow!
We can’t believe it’s here already but we are so excited to share with you everything we have put together for you and your moms as you come out to have fun, celebrate and give back to a great cause all at the same time.
We’ve been busy creating baskets for our raffles and picking up other donated items from local businesses all week and this video is just a small sampling of what’s available. Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped to make this Bingo for Babies our best yet!
If you haven’t yet gotten your tickets, you can still do so on our site. $35 in advance or $40 at the door.

2023 has been BUSY for us so far and the month of May is going to be no different.
We have multiple events, both in-person and virtual, that you can participate in and help us raise funds for helping families and mothers in crisis.
First up is our Bingo for Babies event on May 13th. Tickets are on sale now (visit our website for the link). This is a special Mother’s Day themed bingo event so grab your mom and come out to celebrate with us.
Next is a breakfast with the White Valley AMVETS on May 14. You must RSVP by May 12. All details can be found on the post from yesterday.
Our virtual events include a Pampered Chef online fundraiser where a portion of your purchase goes to the WPADB and if you spend $30 you are entered to win a standing mixer! Could be a great additional gift for mom. Link to participate is on our Facebook page.
Last but not least is our M@cBid auction (more details coming soon) where they will be auctioning 50 items for us in addition to some diaper bank merchandise. Keep your eyes open for that one.

📚Curious about the Best Books for Babies Diaper Distribution event on April 29?
Anne from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh was kind enough to talk to us about the event and what you can expect in your bundles. Check out some of these great book examples of what you might be getting for you and your little one to enjoy together.
🚘Drive-Thru Distribution:
10 am – 12 pm
Families may drive up to receive a book bundle and a two week supply of diapers (sizes 0-3). Each family may select up to two sizes of diapers, but we ask that each car represent only one family. While supplies last.
👟Walk-Up Distribution:
10 – 12 pm
Families may walk up to receive a book bundle and a two week supply of diapers (sizes 0-3). Each family may select up to two sizes of diapers. While supplies last. Enter through CLP - Hill District’s main entrance on Center Ave.
The diaper distribution will take place in the Central Baptist Church’s lower parking lot, located next to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Hill District.

Happy International Women’s Day!
Today is a day to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women not just across the world but also right here in our own neighborhoods.
We are blessed to have the chance to work with so many amazing women, both on our staff and through the agencies and groups that we get to meet and work with on a daily basis who are doing such amazing things to help others and make differences in the lives of families all across Western Pennsylvania. From the bottom of our hearts we want to say thank you and we are so grateful.
We also want to highlight our very own Executive Director, Cathy Battle. It has been through her leadership, drive, and persistence over the past 10 years that our diaper bank has been able to go from distributing 16,000 diapers its first year to over 6.8 million diapers over the past 10 years!!! Ms. Cathy truly exemplifies the saying, “where there is a will, there is a way.” And trust us, she will find that way to help those in need. Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us, Ms. Cathy. #internationalwomensday #celebratewomen #celebratewomeneveryday

Regardless of what Punxsutawney Phil said recently, we decided it was time to think spring and do a bit of spring cleaning.
We have a lot of big things planned for the coming months so we took some time to reorganize the warehouse and make sure we were ready for upcoming events, distributions, donations and volunteer groups. Now we’re feeling ready for the next planning phase.
We want to give a special shout-out to Mr. Nathan, our warehouse manager. We do not know where we would be without him. He keeps us organized and moving behind the scenes in ways you can’t even imagine. We would be truly be lost without him. Thank you for all your hard work Mr. Nathan.

If you haven’t heard, the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank has a second location in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Every Thursday from 10 am - 2 pm, this location is has Open Office Hours where families can stop in to pick up diapers, period supplies or incontinence supplies.

Starting off the beginning of the year with Pitt Serves on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Pitt student volunteers were enacting on some of Martin Luther King Jr.'s core values by helping us package period bags and diapers to help us serve families in the community. In all, they wrapped 10,587 diapers and 7,230 period products. With their help we are prepped and ready for our distributions this week.
