Arroz Con Leche Recipe

2 cups extra long grain rice
2 cinnamon sticks
Lemon peel (3 medium pieces)
3 cups water

1/2 gallon milk
2 cans of evaporated milks
1 can of lechera
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt

Ground Cinnamon (Optional)
Chopped Walnuts (Optional)
Raisins (Optional)

Give your rice a quick rinse to clean it but don't overdo it because we need the starch! Add your clean rice to a pot; add cinnamon sticks, lemon peel and 3 cups of water. Once it reaches a boil cover on low for 15 minutes or until rice has fully cooked. Add milk, evaporated milk, lechera, vanilla extract and salt to a pot until hot (don't let it boil). Add milk back to the cooked rice and constantly mix on medium low heat until it reaches your desire consistency. (don't forget to remove cinnamon stick and lemon peel). Top and enjoy with ground cinnamon and walnuts! You can add raisins too but I'm not a big fan of them!

Receta De Arroz Con Leche

2 tazas de arroz de grano extralargo
2 ramas de canela
Cáscara de limón amarillo (3 trozos medianos)
3 tazas de agua

1/2 galón de leche
2 latas de leches evaporadas
1 lata de lechera
1 cucharada de extracto de vainilla
1/8 cucharadita de sal

Canela molida (opcional)
Nueces picadas (opcional)
Pasas (opcional)

@Jarritos and Vodka? We’re in 😜 Who’s celebrating Friday with cocktails today?!
🎉 Happy National Coffee Day! ☕

There's no better way to celebrate this glorious day than with a steaming cup of Cafe de Olla. This traditional Mexican coffee is infused with rich, aromatic flavors that will transport your taste buds to a cozy cafe in Mexico. Here's how you can make it at home:

- 4 cups of water
- 4-5 tablespoons of coarsely ground coffee (preferably dark roast)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4-5 cloves
- 1 small piloncillo cone (Mexican brown sugar), or substitute with brown sugar
- 1 strip of orange peel
- 1 strip of lemon peel

1. In a large saucepan, combine the water, cinnamon stick, cloves, piloncillo (or brown sugar), orange peel, and lemon peel. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

2. Once it's boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. This will allow all the flavors to meld together.

3. Add the coarsely ground coffee to the simmering mixture. Stir it well, and let it continue to simmer for another 5 minutes. This allows the coffee to infuse with the spices and sweetness.

4. After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the grounds to settle at the bottom.

5. Use a fine mesh strainer or a coffee filter to strain the Cafe de Olla into cups or mugs. This will remove any coffee grounds and spices.

6. Serve your Cafe de Olla hot and enjoy! You can customize it with a touch of cream or milk if you like.

This delightful coffee is not only a celebration of National Coffee Day but also a taste of Mexican culture. Share this recipe with your friends and family, and savor the rich, comforting flavors of Cafe de Olla together. Cheers to coffee lovers everywhere! ☕🇲🇽
