The Chinatown Storytelling Centre, operated by the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation, is home to Canadaâs first permanent exhibit space dedicated to telling the stories of the Chinese Canadian Journey and the living heritage of Vancouverâs Chinatown. The Chinatown Storytelling Centre has permanent and rotating exhibits so make sure to check out the special âRaised in Chinatownâ exhibit before itâs gone forever.
From the traditional Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples, to Chinatown, Japantown, and Hoganâs Alley, Vancouverâs Downtown Eastside has always been a diverse community. Located in the Downtown Eastside, UGMâs heart is to celebrate our neighbourhoodsâ diversity of history and cultures, and to love and serve their communities well.
As we continue to reflect and recognize the many contributions that Canadians of Asian Heritage have made and continue to make in Canada, we also celebrate the rich culture that has made our city and country what it is today!

Living in Vancouver is incredibly expensive, which is a big contributing factor to the rise in homelessness and poverty.
