When UCLA undergrad Amanda Penichet started volunteering at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, she knew she wanted to share her love for reading with pediatric patients. She created the "Inspiration Station," a cart full of tales suited for young children to teens, including bilingual options. Amanda reads to patients at bedside, which helps take their minds off their illnesses and engages the imagination.
