Tip # 4 To Trick Yourself Back Into Your Writing - Write/Read/Watch outside your normal genre choice. I know you have your favorites for a reason but, doesn't that get just a little monotonous? Step out on yourself with genres you don't normally view, hate horror, are you scared? I am I admit, but psychological scary is often different than boogeyman scary so watch at least one, see if somehting you're not expecting jumps off giving you fresh eyes and ways to up the ante on your own writing. It just might work, or you'll just be more scared, but even that you can channel into your character emotional arc. I often say? Use everything you got, every experience, everything that comes across your eyes, and ears, take note, and use it for something, first, to enhance every line of prose on your page!

I’m bacckkkk again, for some #writerstips for my #writerscommunity. Tip 2 is to Submerge Yourself In Character Professions . I realize that this is kind of a no-brainer, that people travel the world to embody both setting, period/time, culture and food to bring things to life, but for my new writer friends, that $$ trip is often unattainable. There are a plethora of things you can do to submerse yourself right here in the good old US of A to give you more writing fodder for your characters, your world building. here's just a smidgen of what you could do to get a little more culture in your write life:
-> Language arts - take some classes for other languages outside of what you know!
-> Make the dishes of your characters home life- I mean the acutal, complex dish and not toast, the more complex, even if it's a fail, you'll have so much material to work with, plus you might add a little humor to your work
-> Go to the travel and tourism bureau for the state it takes place in
-> Watch movies with subtitles, oui!
-> Go to that festival or the taste of ....you name it
-> Watch old eps of travel logues, and read travel blogs
The ideas and possibilities to submerge yourself into the mix of culture is all around us, there's really no excuse! #ijs

Trick yourself to get back into your writing, post 1 of 5: Ready? Sometimes if I've been away from my #writing for a min, I'll do all of the steps I'm sharing with you to get myself back into the writing cave! It works for me, maybe it will work for you too. First up, use #AI to read your work to YOU aloud. When the bot stumbles over what YOU put on the page, fix it! Nothing makes you more mad than someone butchering your work when read aloud and a bot lacks feeling, inflection, all you need to PUSH into fixing it so it sounds like you intended. This works in #jaw #google #microsoftword and I'm certain so many others word processors and I'm sure there are other free ones like #google. Try it out, let me know how it works.
