Kickball isn’t only for kids!☄️
This September marks the beginning of kickball season for @OutLoudSports , an adult sports organization. Are you a kickball newbie? Haven’t played a sport in years? No problem! This league is for every size, race, gender, ability, and experience level. It’s geared toward people who identify as queer or under the LGBT umbrella, but allies are welcome to join.
OutLoud Kickball takes over Cal Anderson Park for eight weeks on Sundays starting September 10, with players facing off against one another in the spirit of good sportsmanship. Spectators are encouraged to come and watch but this is “about having fun and being supportive,” so remember to cheer for everyone!

It’s time to WFC (work from coffee shop) ☕
There’s nothing quite like working or studying in a cozy, warm coffee shop in Seattle. But not all coffee shops are built the same—some close at 2 pm, some have few outlets, and others have stale pastries.
☕️ @Onda Origins
☀️ Seattle Sunshine Coffee
🍵 Boon Boona Coffee
All of these spots fit the bill and we’ve got even more at the link in our bio!

👀 BUMBERSHOOT WEEKEND IS HERE ‼️
The Bumbershoot Arts + Music Festival is back and turning 50 🎉We caught up with the new crew on Friday as they were building stages, constructing runways, and putting in the last stitches 🪡
The revived Bumbershoot will feature many events under one, well, umbrella:
🎸 Multiple music stages: Headliners like Sleater-Kinney, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Band of Horses will perform at stages throughout Seattle Center.
🎨 A visual arts exhibition: The fest will present over 80 artists from the Pacific Northwest, filling up the Fisher Pavilion and transforming the Pacific Science Center’s courtyard into an outdoor sculpture garden.
🥟 Over a dozen local restaurants: Local James Beard Award-nominated chef Ethan Stowell curated a stacked lineup of restaurants, including Local Tide, Musang, Pie Bar, and Dumpling Czar.
👒 A fashion district: The PNW design community will come together to present beauty, apparel, and body art, including runway programs and a “Nail Art Dome.”
🛼 A recess district: Roll Around Seatown will “blur the line between performer and performance,” says Bumbershoot, with agility rollerskating performances—alongside wrestling and pole dancing.
🧙♀️ A witch temple: Really! The Living Alter will offer tarot, past-life, astrology, and palmist readings.
Welcome back, Bumber 🫡

Leave your car(es) behind 🚗 💨
If you live in Seattle, a trip to Bainbridge Island feels like a true getaway despite being so close to the city. Don’t have a car? Even better. Bainbridge is the #1 day trip we recommend to carless city people.
The island’s town center is very walkable and close to the ferry terminal. After the pleasant 35-minute ferry ride, a fun and relaxing day awaits you.
On this trip, we visited Bainbridge Island Museum of Art ▶️ HI LIFE (shashimi 🤤)
