Ever have one of those days? The end is visible but you have a few things you need to get done first. I could’ve powered through, uninspired, and likely way less productive.
Instead I noticed I didn’t want to approach work this way today. So I gave myself a reset. Permission to take a rest and do it differently for the next few hours.
A work reset looks different for me every time, but often involves sensory experiences to help transition into a new approach. Today it was a shower, change to comfier clothes, a good lunch, and warm socks. I just needed a moment.
I listened. And here we are getting it done, in a much more enjoyable environment and mindset I might add.

I spent a lot of years comparing myself to others, to the expectations of society, to what the goals I initially established for myself as a teenager.
Doing this held me back not only from what I truly wanted, but from happiness, success, autonomy, and the “life” I had desparately been craving.
I was working to build a life I couldn’t even enjoy, because of work.
Now tell me how that makes any sense?
Once I truly acknowledged (and worked through) the shame and guilt that came with leaving behind my job and “identity” as a therapist, decision-making became a whole lot easier.
So - here are a few truths I’ve found along the way that got me unstuck…and maybe they will benefit you to hear them now…
…rather than spend years grappling with the additional thought “I am the only one who struggles with this at work, what is wrong with me?!”
