Ever had someone unfriend you or say they’re unfollowing because of something you posted that they disagreed with and you’re like…. Um wow, I didn’t know who you…nvm 🤷🏽♀️ the point is… lol meeting online is a GREAT tool to connecting with some AMAZING people that can become friends, but never get ahead of yourself by thinking that your follows, likes, and shares are indicators of a deep friendship connection that’s entitled to “deep friendship” things. It takes time. Make a real effort outside of the norm. Although having online besties is totally fine, y’all both have to be on board about it! There are so many “Delulus” out there 😩 and people will literally feel entitled to your entire existence because they showed interest in you, your gift, or calling by engaging with your page. That’s not how building relationships goes. It’s cool to think they’re you’re “best friend” in your head but don’t get so sketchy about it by expecting them to answer your DM at 1am, because it will no longer be cute. Show genuine interest. Act natural. Let people get to know you exist with authentic engagement.

We arent planning to fight. Not as grown, classy, sophisticated, women. Push comes to shove, if someone puts their hands on me they're going to jail. Almost 5 years ago, I had a dream. That all the women in the world, no matter the race or cultural background would seek to be better individuals and better friends. At the time, all I remembered was the residue from No New Friends by Drake which was poppin’ still and I’ll admit that I had my fair share of the chant even though I had plenty of friends, hiding a few connections to not offend my main circle of friends. Thats a story for another day. But I saw this friendship movement vividly. I still see it even more. The topic of friendship has arisen because God truly has a heart for friendships. The enemy has fooled us and played with our egos so much that we really was out here thinking that we don’t need nobody but a man for romantic love. Whew friend! Look around. The times have changed and many women who isolated themselves under the guise of “I don’t do women like that “ are now looking in the mirror to reflect on their own limitations because we can’t CONNECT without COMMUNITY and it also takes a village to raise an adult. When’s the last time you looked in the mirror to dissolve this friendship thing?
