Is it locked? There is a little black toggle you can move to unlock it or lock it try that

It’s a diskette, but floppy is acceptable slang. Floppy drive is the thing it goes into.

Floppys are not ancient 🥺 in mexico we used them till the 2007… at least in my school. It does make noise but that off noise means it is corrupted.
