Today we launch our End Housing Insecurity Now campaign calling on the Prime Minister to give millions of renters in the UK the security they need.

1️⃣ Unfreeze Local Housing Allowance rates. A rise will make sure Housing Benefit payments keep up with local rent costs and are calculated to cover the cheapest 30% of private rents.
2️⃣ Increase Universal Credit from £86 to £120 a week for a single adult and £135 to £200 for a couple. Backing the call for an ‘Essential’s Guarantee’, for a basic standard of living.

Jon Gregg is a Big Issue vendor in Parliament Hill, London.
Jon found himself homeless after the company he previously worked for made cutbacks, which included not paying him his final wages, meaning he couldnt make his rent.
Jon now lives in a flat in Holloway Road thanks to the Big Issue Frontline team connecting him to a social housing organisation.
