Growing FIRST in Europe, that is our goal. For that reason, we like to take on every opportunity to get there!
Last May, we were invited by Robotique FIRST France and Robo'Lyon to attend the defi robotique, an FTC off-season event in Lyon, France.
Here, we were able to show off our 2023 robot and explain more of the way FRC works as a European team.
Bringing FRC overseas is no easy task, but combining our strengths across our borders will allow us to reach more, together.

Qualifers!
As always with Worlds, nothing is as expected. At the end of the practice day we were feeling very confident in our robot, however, of course, during the first qualifier match it already tipped over. * insert field fault noise *. A great start to a great day! All kidding aside all our qualifier matches were a lot of fun and very challenging. Many teams were able to really surprise us with their bot and we ended up having a lot of tough matches.
Even though we weren’t ranking as high as we were expected, we were still having a lot of fun and doing everything in our power to get the most out of our robot! Using matches more so as a tool to show off what we’re capable of instead of as just chances to get ranking points!
During the first qualifier day our pit was constantly filled to the brim with visitors wanting to get a look at our robot, trade shirts, ask questions, or just simply talk to us! We had a blast speaking to all of you and hope to do so more in the future!
Overall, the first qualification day was a great succes, maybe not in the form of ranking, but in the form of robot capability, community connection and just plain old fun!

For two years now we have been building our robots fully modular. In this way we can easily take them with us in our suitcases, rapidly iterate throughout the season, and not to forget, we can ensure we have a fully working robot ready for practice day so we can make the most out of all practice can we get. We are proud to say that this once again worked very well this season at Worlds. During the practice day we had to disappoint countless visitors coming to our pit to take a look at the robot since we were always either playing a practice match, testing at the practice fields or queuing for any free spots in other matches. Through this we were able to fully calibrate our robot to the playing fields at worlds, giving us a head start for the qualifiers. Also, we had lot’s of fun talking to everyone who came by our pit. Even though we rarely had our robot in our pit, hopefully we were still able to answer all your questions with the help of our composer model and engineering notebook.
