Our epilepsy seizure alert dogs provide a 100% reliable alert up to 50 minutes prior to a seizure. These incredible dogs truly save lives; but what does it take to be one? Here are the three key qualities we look for in an epilepsy seizure alert dog:
1. Their ability to make connections so they are able to pick up behavioural or emotional changes in a person and predict an outcome (e.g. a seizure)
2. Their ability to focus. They need to be able to concentrate even in busy environments.

It's #InternationalWheelchairDay and we want to take you behind the scenes to show how our support dogs are trained to walk next to a wheelchair.
Plenty of our clients are wheelchair users so it is important that our dogs are completely comfortable around them. They also have to be trained to walk at the right pace next to the chair and to go behind the chair when moving through tighter spaces such as doors.
